Crotone are desperate to bring in some reinforcements in January to boost their survival chances and Italian reports say they are close to reaching an agreement with Pescara for the 25-year-old playmaker.

Benali started his career at Manchester City but never made a senior league appearance for the English side before moving to Italy, initially to Brescia in 2012.

The midfielder has managed five goals so far this season and the transfer is expected to be completed in the coming days.
